Koeman was threatened with sanctions for what he said after the Barca vs Madrid match

KOMPAS.com – Trainer Ronald Koeman threatened with sanctions from the Spanish Football Federation Competition Committee (RFEF) for what he said after the match Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Saturday (24/10/2020).

After the match, Koeman said Real Madrid won because the referee benefited.

This is because in the 61st minute, Madrid received a penalty after Sergio Ramos was brought down by Clement Lenglet in the Barcelona forbidden box.

“I don’t understand some of the referee’s decisions. The decision to award a penalty has a big effect on the final result. Before the penalty, we played well,” said Koeman.

“The penalty has a big impact. I don’t understand VAR,” he said again.

The Dutch coach hopes that someone can explain how VAR works in the Spanish League.

Koeman also thinks VAR exists only to fight Barcelona.

SPORT wrote, Koeman was threatened with sanctions due to his statement.

Koeman violated section 100 of the Code of Discipline regarding attacks on league operators, either in direct statements or on social media.

The article reads more or less, “Anyone subject to sporting discipline, statements in any way that question the honesty and impartiality of any operator or RFEF, as well as statements which imply disapproval in derogatory or offensive language, will be penalized.”

In this case, Koeman is threatened with a ban from accompanying Barcelona (not to mention how many matches) and a fine of 601 to 3,005 euros.
