NEW YORK, Oct.25 (Reuters) – Readers in New York state rushed to the polls on Saturday and waited hours to cast their ballots for the US presidential election on November 3, day one advance polling.
This is the first time that this state, traditionally a democratic stronghold where Joe Biden has a clear lead over Republican President Donald Trump in voting intentions, has allowed early voting for a presidential election.
More than 56 million Americans have already transmitted their ballot, in person or by mail, never seen before. (John Whitesides; French version Jean Terzian)
