Reinerstrasse in Brugg can be renovated for just under 2.9 million – Brugg – Aargau

On Friday evening, the Brugger residents’ council clearly approved the loans totaling almost 2.9 million francs for the renovation of Reinerstrasse, including the renewal of the sewage pipes and the new construction of the rainwater pipes.

It is not a cheap option, stated Martin Brügger (SP). But even if he was not entirely comfortable with the costs, he attested the city council foresight and caution. Peter Haudenschild (FDP) also agreed to the deal, at the same time demanding that the city council – as homework, as he noted – lower the budgeted amount. As an example of a cost saving that can be checked, he cited a total closure of the street for renovation during the summer holidays.

Patrick von Niederhäusern (SVP), on the other hand, saw no urgent need for renovation on the little-used Reinerstrasse. In addition, he described it as bold to plan to reduce the speed again just under two years after the voters voted no to Tempo 30. In view of the financial situation of Brugg and the high costs, he applied for rejection. However, this did not come through and was clearly rejected.

The residents’ council accepted all naturalizations without dissenting votes. Some of the advances led to violent reactions. One of the topics was the overall regional transport concept for Ostaargau (oasis).

The residents ‘council of Brugg has so far distinguished itself through its quality, through respectful interaction, through respect, through factual argumentation and listening, emphasized residents’ council president Rita Boeck (SP). But some recent advances would have puzzled her, she continued. The content was cross-border, hurtful and discriminatory. She urged the residents’ council to stand up for the welfare of the entire population and to respect other opinions.
