The Besançon criminal court sentenced the parents, uncle and aunt of a shorn Bosnian Muslim girl on Friday evening because she was dating a young Christian Serb to one year in prison, including four months suspended.
The court also issued a five-year ban on French territory against the parents of the 17-year-old girl. The parents were arrested Friday evening, at the end of their trial.
This Saturday, Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, said that five members of the family had been expelled.

A residence permit upon reaching majority
These are the parents of the girl and three of their children, it was specified in the entourage of Gerald Darmanin. The girl’s uncle and aunt, sentenced to the same sentence as the parents, are granted refugee status.
The 17-year-old girl will be “supported by social assistance for children and will obtain a residence permit when she comes of age”, added the Minister of the Interior and the Minister for Citizenship , Marlène Schiappa, in their joint press release.
“I am scandalized”, reacted Me Catherine Bresson, lawyer of the parents, specifying that she was unaware of the presence of officials of the Air and border police in the court and did not find “normal” that the expulsion “has was done behind everyone’s back, on the sly “. The lawyer admitted, however, that this expulsion was “legal” and to have “no legal means to oppose it”.
