LIVE | Curfew in more and more European countries | Inland

Wallonia is tightening the curfew that is in force in Belgium to reverse the new advance of the corona virus. In French-speaking Belgium, where the virus is spreading more than anywhere else in Europe, people are no longer allowed on the street after 10 p.m. That is only allowed again in the morning from 6 a.m., the Walloon Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo announced on Friday evening.

Since Monday between midnight and 5 a.m. Belgium is not allowed to leave the house and in Flanders and Brussels this will remain the case for the time being. Even though there are more and more voices in Brussels politics to make the measures stricter.

Authorities in the Italian region of Campania, where Naples is also located, have announced a regional lockdown. It is necessary to close everything except the enterprises that produce and transport essential goods, stressed regional leader Vincenzo De Luca. The national authorities have meanwhile announced that a record number of new infections has been reported. It concerns almost 20,000 corona cases in a day.

Campania had already taken far-reaching measures to stop the virus from spreading. Schools had to close and a curfew is being introduced. De Luca promised even more measures. Among other things, he wants to impose travel restrictions. Italy registered the highest number of corona infections so far on Friday.
