One-off payment of an average of 2500 euros for catering

There will be a one-off extra payment for catering establishments that are closed due to the corona crisis. They receive a one-off amount of an average of 2500 euros, insiders from The Hague report. Exactly how much a catering company receives depends on the loss of turnover. The measure is part of adjustments to the government’s third support package. In addition, the number of companies that qualify for the fixed costs allowance (TVL) will be further expanded.

Some sectors are now falling through the cracks, such as suppliers and transport companies. In order to support them as well, all companies with more than 30 percent loss of turnover will be eligible for an allowance. This can amount to 90,000 euros and is intended to be able to pay fixed costs such as rent and the energy bill.

The details will be worked out this weekend and the arrangements will be presented on Monday.

In recent days, the cabinet has been discussing the expansion with various stakeholders. Ministers consulted, among other things, with social partners and also with opposition parties. So it is about adjustments; there will not be a whole new support package. The most recent package, which has been running since 1 October, is, according to the cabinet, already intended to “help”; it should also be able to accommodate new tighter corona restrictions.
