Liège wants to have Defense set up a field hospital. Army command …

Nowhere else in our country – and by extension even Europe – is the situation regarding the corona virus as alarming as in the province of Liège. If the number of corona patients continues to rise, the Liège mayor Willy Demeyer (PS) wants to ask the army to install a field hospital next to one of his overloaded hospitals, if necessary.

Incidentally, it would not be unique in the fight against the virus. In March, the French army installed an emergency hospital near the city of Mulhouse in just a few days, when the local hospitals could no longer cope with the flow of patients.

The only problem for us: in view of the many savings, the Belgian army no longer has a field hospital worthy of the name, as confirms Deputy Chief of Staff Marc Thys on the social network site Twitter.
