The family wants to leave early, but Erica still has a whole to-do list before they can return to the Netherlands. The dogs still have to go inside and the windows still have to be closed. Maxime and Martien have been waiting in the car for some time now, much to Erica’s annoyance.

The family does enjoy themselves during the long car journey: they think out loud what they want to eat first. From a special frikadel to a skewer, they have missed a lot of delicacies.
Not much later they are warmly welcomed in their own country, in the form of a ticket. Where she was allowed to drive 50 kilometers per hour, speed demon Erica drove 90.
Anyone who thought that the Meilandjes only had a fair share of bad luck in France would be disappointed. Once in Hengelo, the truck does not fit on the site and the locals hear Martien’s screams in the distance.

Ultimately, all trucks were emptied and the family can start on a real Dutch meal: a portion of Chinese. It turns out that Martien still has to get used to the fact that they live in the Netherlands again, because ordering is accompanied by the necessary French terms.
