Many years ago Acer cooperated with the Ferrari brand on designer gaming notebooks. Now he is returning to a connection with a name evoking the automotive industry, and this time it’s Porsche Design.
New Porsche Design Acer Book RS is above all a premium stylish work notebook. Thanks to the thin all-metal body with a display lid made of acknowledged carbon fibers, the notebook weighs 1.25 kg.
Inside we find 11th generation Core processors with optional GeForce MX350 graphics. Acer lasts up to 17 hours. The 14 “FullHD IPS display promises accurate sRGB coverage and thin frames.
The design notebook will also be complemented by a mouse, pad, case and bag in a harmonized design.
Because Acer connects the laptop from Porsche Design with shots of iconic Porsche cars, it should be recalled that the design was not designed by the automaker, but by a separate design studio founded by FA Porsche in 1972. It specializes in watches, electronics and fashion, not cars.
The notebook uses standard Acer technologies and connector layouts such as Acer Swift 5. For example, on the left you will still find a thin charging connector, even if the notebook can be charged via USB-C or instead of face logging you get a fingerprint reader in the touchpad.
In Europe, the Porsche Design Acer Book RS notebook will go on sale in December with prices according to configuration, starting at 65,000.
