The transfer window in Italy has long been closed. However, new information is still coming out about the would-be transaction with Arkadiusz Milik.
For a long time it seemed that the Polish striker would change club colors in the summer. The 26-year-old rejected a new contract offer from Napoli and his representatives began working on a possible transfer. In the media you could read about the next clubs that Milik would go to.
Juventus, AS Roma, Tottenham, Everton – this is just the beginning of a long list of teams interested in winning a Polish representative. As we know, the next gates closed in front of the attacker and eventually the sniper remained on the ice. Now Milik is training with Napoli, but he has no chance of appearances, because he has not been entered either for Serie A or for the Europa League.
Giulio Meozzi shed new light on the would-be transfer of the Polish player. An Italian agent in the “Casa Viola” program admitted that he had talked with the management of “Azzurri” about Milik. However, the player’s financial requirements turned out to be a problem.
– I had contact with one of the English teams for him. I spoke to the Napoli bosses, they told me that Milik wanted a salary of five million euros. Heard it’s a waste of time if the proposition is lower the Italian announced.
Milik was also connected with Fiorentina. Meozzi knows why this club was crossed off by a Pole.
– Fiorentina cannot give a player a salary of five million euros. I think Milik already has a deal with another club he explained.
The Italian media are already speculating that the band Meozzi talks about is … Juventus.
