It’s a little after five o’clock in the morning and the owner of the Zlín barber shop Na Fešáka Lukáš Marušinský and his colleague have had an exceptional night shift, during which they cut and shaved two dozen of their customers. He had to be able to serve them all by six o’clock in the morning, when the newly introduced government coronavirus measures, which close services of this type, came into force.

“One hundred pairs of razor blades fell. We filled the trash. It was really a lot until the morning. We finish cutting at 5:40. We keep a reserve for sure, so that we can clean up decently and clean everything. Close in peace and go home to bed, “Marušinský told Práva just before closing his business.

He came up with the idea to extend the opening hours without a break until the morning on the last day, right after the announcement of the new coronavirus measures.

“We have a lot of customers and long waiting times. We are already ordering for January 2021. Since they will close us so quickly, my colleague and I wanted to satisfy our clients that we will probably offer them the last haircut this year, “said the barber.

Customers accepted the offer with enthusiasm. The offered deadlines for night cutting were filled within the first hour of the publication of the extended opening hours.

“We were the first clients to call tomorrow (Thursday) and in the coming days. I was very surprised by the interest, any customer I contacted was willing to come, at two o’clock in the morning, “Marušinský told ČTK on Wednesday evening.

Now he hopes that the situation in the Czech Republic will calm down as soon as possible. “In the first spring wave, when we also had to close, our clients helped us a lot, as they bought our coronavirus pre-sale. In this way, they helped us pay the rent, “the barber explained.

He added that he is not happy about the autumn closure of the operation. “At the moment, this means an immediate closure of the business and uncertainty again,” he added, adding that the night shift from Wednesday to Thursday was his first similar event. To endure the morning with a colleague, they equipped themselves with energy drinks.
