It was long thought to be one urban legend went, but there are now images of the infamous Ghent ‘footman’. They were shown in the investigation program on Wednesday evening Faroek.

The story of the ‘footman’ has been circulating in Ghent’s student environment since 2006. The man invades pasterns and asks students if he can smell their feet. He doesn’t speak, but uses gestures and a simple drawing to make clear what he wants. Although it is not clear whether the man actually cannot speak, or whether he is using it as an excuse to get into the pasterns.

–A few weeks ago, the federal police for the first time distributed an investigation message containing a robot photo and were asked for tips. And now there are also video images of the man. They were taken by a security camera on October 15 when he broke into a student room again. He knocked on the door of several students and also visited one person. He started drawing and urged the student to smell her feet, but she refused.
In the meantime, 17 students have effectively filed a complaint. In the first place, the police ask the man himself to report, because he may need help.
