The attack had lasted several minutes and the septuagenarian had been bitten numerous times on several limbs. “I thought I was dying”, she confides to Nice morning, still shocked and not yet fully recovered. She had been taken care of by firefighters and hospitalized in Grasse after the fact, for several days. Some wounds still have not healed and she still has difficulty moving.
The owner is said to have separated from one of the dogs
She had filed a complaint in Toulon (Var), where she lives. The file must now be sent to the public prosecutor’s office in Grasse, then to the gendarmerie brigade in Séranon. The criminal part is therefore pending, specifies the local daily.
The gendarmes however reminded the owner of the animals of his obligations, such as keeping his dogs on a leash and fencing his land. The man allegedly explained to them that he had since separated from one of the dogs. The Penal Code provides that an owner whose dog has caused injury to others can be sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of € 30,000.
