Suara.com – Pope Francis say that mate homosexual or same-sex couples may enter into civil bonds or civil union and the state should provide legislation to ratify the relationship.

When asked if he was not concerned that his comments on homosexual relationships would spark controversy among Catholics, Francis said that it was the state that had to legalize same-sex relations and that it had to be regulated by law.
“What we have to create is a civil union law. Thus, the relationship is protected by law,” said Francis, as quoted from the press conference. Catholic News Agency.
Compromise?
Civil union itself is a civil union between two people that is recognized or legalized by the state. In some European and South American countries, this is a way to legalize homosexual relationships, even though the level is still below marriage.
Francis’s view on same-sex relations is considered different from Catholic doctrine, but also shows a shift in the pope’s own thinking.
