KHARTUM, KOMPAS.com – Sudan said on Tuesday (20/10/2020) that it had transferred US $ 335 million (Rp.4.9 trillion) to United States of America as an attempt to break free from the list of supporting states terrorism.
Transfer of money by Sudan to the US has become an agreement between the two parties, as compensation to the victims and their families who were affected by attacks from Sudanese militant forces. In exchange, Sudan will be removed from the list of countries terrorist.

Acting Finance Minister Hiba Ali said Sudan needed to speed up adjustments to foreign currency exchange rates as part of a package to cope economic crisis that country.
The crisis has escalated in Sudan in the 18 months since former president Omar Al Bashir was removed from office by his generals amid a wave of protests against his 29-year rule.

Ali did not provide details, but the Sudanese currency, whose value has been falling against the US dollar for months, bounced back against the US dollar after Trump’s announcement on Twitter.
Trump has not provided details on when his administration will notify Congress of its decision to remove Sudan from the state list of terrorism.
Once abolished, Sudan will be allowed to negotiate with its creditors on waivers or restructuring of foreign debt worth 60 billion US dollars (Rp 878.8 trillion).
Apart from that, Sudan can also be accepted back into the international banking system, which the country was once removed from the system list, as a result penalty US. The US decision will also open up hundreds of millions of US dollars in foreign aid.
In recent months, Sudan’s inflation has surged by more than 200 percent and its currency has fallen in value.
