FACILITATE CHARGING – Refueling of electric cars can be carried out both at the columns and at home, using the wallboxes that use the connection to the electricity grid. The former are used when away from home and can offer power and a charging speed such as to “fill up” in a few minutes, the latter offer a lower speed since they are designed to take advantage of the night, when the car is not is used (according to current data, the percentage of refills in one’s garage or parking space is used by 80% of users). More and more companies are offering flexible solutions able to meet the needs of users who need to recharge their electric car at home. The offer proposed by Enel X (historical partner of the Volkswagen Group), and for the owners of the electric SUV Audi e-tron, created the offer exclusively Ready for e-tron home, dedicated to charging from home.
THE PROPOSED PACKAGES – The package Ready for e-tron home includes the home inspection, advice on increasing the electrical power of the home system, setting up the recharging system and the possibility of choosing the Enel X JuiceBox with integrated cable in three different alternating current power configurations (AC ): 7.4 kW single-phase (costs 854 euros), 11 or 22 kW three-phase (922 euros). By opting for the 7.4 or 11 kW JuiceBox, it is possible to fill up the Audi e-tron in one night, while the 22 kW solution reduces the time to about four hours.
You can also choose the version of the wallbox JuiceBox Pro Cellular that allows you to manage the recharge even remotely using the appropriate smartphone application; in the latter case the price will be 1,037 euros for the 7.4 kW basic version, up to 1,140 euros for the 11 or 22 kW variant. Prices that can fall by taking advantage of the tax deduction of 50% of the purchase costs, which reaches 110% thanks to the Superbonus provided for by the Relaunch Decree.
Alternatively, thanks to the service Charging Service, it is possible to recharge the electricity of the German company in the infrastructure of the Enel X provider using direct current (DC) with powers up to 150 kW, which ensure 80% recovery of the accumulator in less than half an hour. Infrastructure that is set to grow. Enel X, which has already installed over 10,500 recharging points in Italy, plans to install a further 28,000 points in our country by 2022, with the aim of extensively covering all Italian regions.
INFRASTRUCTURE GROWS – Both the project are part of this growth plan EVA+ that Ionity. The first, co-financed by the European Commission, in which the Volkswagen group participates with Audi itself and with Volkswagen, together with other manufacturers, involves the installation of 180 fast charging points along the Italian suburban routes (the first 110 infrastructures are already active, ensuring “full” in about two hours). The Ionity consortium (born in 2017 on the initiative of Porsche, Audi, BMW, Daimler and Ford) instead aims to set up an ultrafast infrastructure in Italy: 20 sites that will host up to 6 columns each, capable of recharging Audi and -tron in about 30 minutes. The project already has 12 active stations and aims to expand the European fast-charging network to 400 charging stations by 2020.
