The Covid-19 pandemic is a powerful reminder that one of the most effective and simple ways to stop the spread of the virus and various other infectious diseases is to wash your hands with soap and water.
Hand hygiene can save lives. Therefore, the government, private sector and civil society have jointly formed the Private-Public Partnership for Handwashing with Soap (KSP-CTPS) to promote advocacy and sustainable initiatives to improve the practice of Handwashing with Soap in Indonesia. On World Handwashing Day on October 15, 2020, the Private Partnership and the government invites all stakeholders to get used to washing hands with soap to work collaboratively with all stakeholders for handwashing behavior to ensure that promotion and availability of hand washing facilities are maintained and sustainable and convey knowledge about washing hands properly.
Minister of Health, dr. Terawan Agus Putranto asked all ministries / agencies and stakeholders to encourage the importance of washing hands with soap to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases. (See the video: Two Policemen Escorting Jogging Subject to Administrative Sanctions)
“I also ask all partners to provide hand washing facilities using soap and water in their respective workplaces. The Ministry of Health will also collaborate with the private sector and civil society organizations to increase access to hand washing facilities with soap,” said Terawan. (Faith Firmansyah)
