A letter for your doctors, nurses and health workers. Stefano Paglia, the Director of the Lodi and Codogno emergency room, wrote and sent it. “It is now clear to everyone, here we go again”, attacks the man who in February found himself in the heart of the emergency, in the place where it all began. It is a call to arms, a thank you for what has been and for what will be done and, at the same time, it is an exhortation to resist, to imagine oneself “as a port that strives to offer shelter to ships in storm”. “Dear. It is now clear to everyone, here we go again. The second wave is no longer a possibility but a reality. Many months have passed since February and the scenario is not identical to the previous one, it has many differences. The first is that at the moment we are no longer the epicenter but the periphery of a potentially much more problematic epicenter. The second is that the information on the pathology is objectively greater and, with it, also the awareness of the potential gravity and, let’s face it honestly, also the fear. I don’t want to dwell too much on useless considerations, I think we are all aware that we are both stronger (thanks to our past experience) and weaker (due to our past experience).

I think we are all experiencing a strange set of sensations, I do not think there are any right or wrong, I think they are all right, even fear, and that every feeling we need to be better men and women even before health workers. I was reflecting last night on what we are, I am myself and I have always represented you as soldiers defending a wall. Maybe we need to think of ourselves as a port struggling to shelter ships in storm. I think we have all changed, maybe for the better, maybe just changed. Nobody really knows when how this situation will end and when it will end but we are a nice group and I am happy to face this situation with you. We do and we will do our best, each according to his possibilities, I am convinced. Thanks again from your Dsc (manager of a complex structure, ed) who strives to be a better person.
