UPC services do not end there, Vodafone refutes the news spreading on the Internet

“Dear customers, we would like to inform you that we have noticed the spread of false reports in your locality about the end of the provision of UPC services due to the connection with Vodafone. This information is not true. ”

These days, Vodafone is sending e-mails with this text and the subject “Beware of misleading claims” to customers of the former UPC. Magnifier has a copy of the email:

“We sent the e-mail to our exUPC customers precisely on the basis of the misleading claims they receive,” confirmed Lupa Kateřina Šantorová from Vodafone’s press department, with the operator not wanting to publish further details. It is not so clear how many customers received the e-mail or to which specific messages Vodafone responds.

Czech UPC merged with Vodafone after the operator bought the assets of the American company Liberty Global in the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Romania. After the merger, Vodafone announced that cancels some additional UPC services.

Vodafone also wants to gradually replace all customers with set-top boxes and some also routers (for those, the replacement is related to the support of DOCSIS 3.1 technology, which allows to increase the connection speed to 1 Gb / s.
