Submarine killer Peter Madsen arrested after escape | Abroad

Madsen hit a fence after his escape. Two officers held him at gunpoint. He has since been locked in again by the heavily armed police unit.

Madsen’s site is about 500 meters from Herstedvester prison, in a municipality close to Copenhagen. Madsen claimed to have a bomb belt. That is not yet clear and is being investigated on location by the police.

According to Ekstra Bladet, Peter Madsen has already been placed in an isolation cell several times, on suspicion of escape attempts. His lawyer says he is not aware of the escape.

Gruesome details

The gruesome case caused a lot of controversy at the time. Kim Wall had gone along with Madsen for an article in his latest invention, a submarine. Madsen killed her on board with stabbing, cut the body to pieces and dumped the body parts in the waters south of Copenhagen.

The inventor always insisted that there had been an accident. But the Danish judge ruled that there was clear evidence that the inventor had first tortured and then killed his victim.
