The American SSC boasted the speed of the Tuatara supersport recorded on the Nevada road number 160. In the first race the car reached 484.53 km / h, in the second it was 532.93 km / h. The recordable average is still a record 508.73 km / h.

Even when the speed record was held by the Koenigsegg Agera RS with a value of 444.6 km / h, the driver was talked about as the future fastest car on the planet. Last year, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ almost took over the title with a speed of 490.5 km / h. However, this attempt was recorded in only one direction, which is not officially recognized.

The finish line was overcome by the British racer Oliver Webb, who got behind the wheel. For its record-breaking model, the SSC carmaker – Shelby Super Cars – uses an eight-cylinder fork with a displacement of 5.9 liters.

The supercharged unit located in the middle of the Tuatara supersport will offer up to 1,750 horsepower when running on E85 ethanol. In addition, the aerodynamic drag is only 0.279 Cx, the weight of the car without filling is only 1275 kilograms.
