The hosts started Monday’s clash with an advantage over the rival. The peacocks only lost one game. In the inaugural line they had to recognize Liverpool’s superiority (3: 4). West Ham and Manchester City, on the other hand, are wolf killers. In the last game, however, they managed to take three points against Fulham (1-0).

The ball was in the net already in the seventh minute of the match. Patrick Bamford struck straight into the visitors’ goal from five meters from a corner, but was in an offside position. Referee David Coote rightly disagreed the goal. Moments later, the game had to be stopped due to blood on the pitch. The rival hit Daniel Podence with his hand in the nose, who had to use the help of medical services.

The hosts were more confident in their actions, but there was a lack of finishing. After fifteen minutes of play, Marcelo Bielsy’s players came out with a counter. Helder Costa hit the spot after a lightning-fast first-ball action, but he was wrong hitting far past the post.

Wolves created one of the first chances in the 35th minute, but Raul Jimenez fired a good cross from a corner high above the bar. Rivals responded in the next action. Jack Harrison threw the ball into the penalty area, but there Conor Coady was alert and at the last minute warned Bamford who was gathering for a shot. Daniel Podence had a great opportunity in the added time of the first edition. The visitors’ striker hit hard from the penalty area, but Illan Meslier showed a successful intervention.

Referee Coote did not recognize two goals on Monday. In the 53rd minute Podence outsmarted Mateusz Klich and ran to Romain Saiss. The 30-year-old, however, struck after being caught in an offside trap. Apart from one mistake with the canceled goal, the Polish midfielder was very vigilant. At the beginning of the second half he successfully stopped Joao Moutinho on the sideline, and in the 66th minute after the foul on him the Portuguese saw a yellow card.

The Wilki’s better and better game resulted in the 70th minute. Raul Jimenez towed the ball for a long time until he was just under the sixteen hosts. The 29-year-old striker decided to shoot, and Kalvin Phillips changed the trajectory of the ball significantly. However, the goal was not treated as an own goal. The guests maintained a favorable result and took three points from the beneficiary.
