Tom Cruise may be 58 years old, the actor still does all his stunts himself. That is how he learned to fly a jet fighter in no time Top Gun: Maverick. Unfortunately we will have to wait a little longer for the film due to the corona crisis, but Cruise has already received his first ‘prize’.

Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have been named Honorary Naval Aviators by the US Navy. It is a special and rare title, as only 36 people in total received this title. The award was presented at a ceremony at Paramount Studios, Top Gun’s distributor. Afterwards, a screening of Top Gun: Maverick took place.

Incredible movie
The Naval Air Forces love the film, just like the original: ”Top Gun is by far the most iconic aviation movie in history. The characters, dialogues and images are etched in the memory of an entire generation of Americans”.

According to the Naval Air Forces, Top Gun also saw many more recruits and the entry of aircraft carriers into pop culture. The authenticity of the film is also praised. The sequel will normally be shown in July of next year.
