David Guetta has been in the Dutch Top-40 the longest with 629 weeks, more than twelve years old. Eva Jinek informed the DJ on Monday Jinek. With this, the DJ beats among others Rihanna, The Rolling Stones, Armin van Buuren and Madonna.
“Amazing, thank you”, the DJ responded after Jinek handed him a trophy. “I’m going to keep this one. It makes me very proud.”
“And a lot of love for the people in the Netherlands”, Guetta continued his acceptance speech. “I have many Dutch friends and my Dutch production partner is a genius on the piano and I am friends with Afrojack and Martin Garrix.”
As a result, Guetta finds his newly acquired title even more special, he tells Jinek. “Getting this into the land of dance music touches me even more.”
On the talk show, Guetta went on to say that he expects 2021 to be “the biggest celebration year in the history of the planet,” because everyone wants to party as soon as possible. “That’s how I keep feeling good. I’m a positive person and for now I’m brightening myself up with this.”
The DJ is currently in Amsterdam for the Amsterdam Dance Event. Although that looks different this year from other years, courses and lectures are given. Guetta can be seen talking about the DJ scene in The Evolution of Our Sounds, the festival’s closing event.
