It’s finally here. BMW car owners can look forward to many months of waiting launch of the Android Auto platform in their four-wheeled companions. The Munich carmaker will start sending cars with the system on October 19 BMW Operating System 7.0 Remote Update Service (OTA), which will include support for Android Auto. Compared to other large manufacturers, the German company is far behind in terms of terms, but the update will take place in style.
As it will be a remotely controlled and distributed upgrade, owners with their cars does not need service. This is a huge advantage and a change from previous assumptions. The update will receive more than 750,000 vehicles with the mentioned system. In terms of the number of target units, it will be about the largest software update for cars from a European company. Support for Android Auto is not the only thing that will arrive in BMW cars as part of this event. For example, the new Maps and eDrive zones should also be included. The first wave coveted the update will start in Germany, gradually other European countries, the USA, Canada, China and other regions will follow.
