The Bali Police Propam has finished examining members of the Highway Patrol (PJR) regarding the male viral video Richard Muljadi who was escorted while jogging in the Denpasar area. As a result, PJR members who did the escort were given sanctions.
“I need to convey that the results of this examination have taken disciplinary action, disciplinary action has been taken in the form of administrative sanctions,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Syamsi, to reporters, Monday (19/10/2020).
Syamsi explained that the administrative sanction in question was that the two PJR members were asked to apologize for not repeating their actions. Then both of them were also given a verbal warning.
“The three sanctions make a statement of apology not to repeat his actions again,” said Syamsi.
In the video that was viral there were 3 men who were escorted while jogging. One of the men who was jogging was similar to Richard Muljadi.
However, Syamsi was reluctant to explain clearly who was being escorted while jogging. Ditpropam Polda Bali, said Syamsi, only focuses on examining members who carry out escort.
“My colleagues have seen who is in the video. I do not need to explain more clearly the focus of the police or Ditpropam is related to the violation of the guarding procedure committed by the traffic members which is the main point of the investigation of Propam,” said Syamsi.
Previously, the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen Pas) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights stated that he did not have the authority to sentence Richard. The Head of Public Relations and Protocol at the Directorate General of Pas, Rika Aprianti, said that her party did not have the authority because the judge decided that Richard had to undergo rehabilitation.
“The person concerned has been decided by rehab, not with us,” said Rika via text message, Saturday (17/10/2020).
Richard was convicted of using cocaine and sentenced to 1.5 years in prison. The judge ordered the punishment to be carried out with rehabilitation first.
Richard was rehabilitated at the Drug Addiction Hospital (RSKO) Cibubur, East Jakarta. This verdict was decided by the judge at the end of February 2019.
