Today the Ministry of Health has made an appeal to clients who have been in the Valsa cafeteria and the bares Piol Y Don Pelayo, in Aviles, between August 17 and 30 to perform a PCR test. The results of the studies of the Epidemiological Surveillance Service conclude that so far there are 16 positive cases linked to the aforementioned outbreak.
People who have visited any of these establishments on those dates can now fill out the form that is available at the following link on the Astursalud website (https://www.astursalud.es/en/formulario-pcr ) or call the phone 984 100 400. This toll-free number attends to public inquiries about the coronavirus and redirects calls if healthcare is required.
The Health Service of the Principality of Asturias (Sespa) will contact those affected to practice a PCR test. In the meantime, these people should limit their social life, monitor their condition and rigorously comply with protective measures: frequent hand washing with soap, correct use of the mask and maintaining interpersonal distance of at least one and a half meters.
In relation to the evolution of the pandemic, the Epidemiological Surveillance Service has confirmed today 32 new positives diagnosed yesterday. Of them, four are related to the eastern area. Of the latter, two cases have been detected during a screening at the Don Orione Special Education Center. Both are workers of the aforementioned Posada de Llanes facility. The rest of the professionals and residents have tested negative.
Those affected, including these social health workers, are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, which is why they are in isolation at their homes, except for one person who has had to be admitted to hospital.
recommendations
The health authorities recall the social responsibility of people who are pending the result of a PCR or who are considered close contacts. They must restrict their social life, remain at home and strictly comply with quarantine.
The General Directorate of Public Health urges citizens to use the mask correctly. This preventive measure is mandatory in Asturias for those over six years of age. In addition, it is mandatory in public and private means of transport; in the latter case when the occupants do not reside in the same household.
Frequent hand washing and maintaining an interpersonal safety distance of at least one and a half meters with people with whom you do not live are other effective measures to prevent the transmission of the virus.
