Woman who cut child from victim’s abdomen gets lethal injection | Abroad

Lisa Montgomery was convicted of the heinous crime in 2007, but the court has now set a date when the American will receive the lethal injection.

Matter

Montgomery told family and friends in 2004 that she was pregnant. Around that time she made contact with Bobbie Jo Stinnett, a heavily pregnant woman who sold dogs. They got to talking and made an appointment on December 16, 2004 to sell one of the animals. On the day of the appointment, Montgomery strangled the pregnant woman, cut the baby out of her belly, and then tried to convince her family that it was her own.

The story became even more incredible when it became clear that Montgomery had been sterilized after her fourth pregnancy.

Miraculously, the baby survived the gruesome attack. The child eventually grew up with her father and is now 16 years old.
