Matthew McConaughey’s father, James Donald McConaughey, died while having sex with his mother. The actor tells this in his book Greenlights from what People already has a pre-publication. It was the death his father wanted, McConaughey said.
“I got a call from my mother: ‘Your father has passed away.’ My knees were shaking. I couldn’t believe it. He was my father. Nothing or no one could get him down, I always thought. Only my mother, “writes the 50-year-old Oscar winner, known for films like The Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas Buyers Club in Magic Mike.
“He used to tell my brothers and me that if he died, it would be while he was having sex with our mother,” McConaughey continues. “And that’s what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed.”
McConaughey’s father died in 1992. He and his wife Kay had an on-again, off-again relationship. They have been married a total of three times. The actor was conceived shortly after their third marriage.
