The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes League has just formalized the withdrawal of a team for the 5th round of the Coupe de France.
Thiers forced to forfeit!
AS Saint-Priest will see the 6th round without a match. While Canet Roussillon had benefited from a package for its entry into the running, it is the turn of the san-priot club to take advantage of it. Indeed, the SA Thiers club has detected several cases of Covid in its senior teams (R1 and R3). New tests were carried out and the meeting scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. was postponed this afternoon to Sunday 2:30 p.m. However, this evening, we learn that the results of the PCR tests will not be available before Sunday, therefore, the Auvergne club must withdraw.
AS Saint-Priest press release
“AS Saint-Priest thanks the SAT for having had the honesty to prevent instances of positive cases, and therefore for not having taken the risk of contaminating the San-Priote delegation, and regrets not having been able to dispute the place in the 6th round on a football field. We wish the sick players a speedy recovery and the club a good Thiernois season. “
Note, the early meeting between Angoulême and Trélissac this evening at 8:30 p.m. should give the first qualified for the 6th round.
Unable to obtain the results of the PCR tests carried out today before the match scheduled for Sunday, SAT Football was forced to forfeit this 5th round of the Coupe de France.
