Horeca
The most difficult point of discussion on the Consultation Committee was the approach in the hospitality industry. There were several voices to close the sector completely, others wanted to spare the sector even more. Nevertheless, it was decided to shut down completely across the country: restaurants and cafés must be closed for at least four weeks from Monday. This measure will be evaluated after two weeks.
There would be a premium for the affected cases. It is not yet clear exactly how this arrangement works.
Social contacts
Our social contacts are again limited to one “hug contact”. This means that we may come into close contact with no more than one person outside of our family. Other people are allowed to see, although one must always keep a distance of one and a half meters or, if that is not possible, wear a mouth mask. This is a significant restriction: up to now it was allowed to have close contact with three people.
Curfew
A new measure is that of the night clock. Following in the footsteps of neighboring France, a restraining order will also apply in our country from midnight to five in the morning. De Tijd reports this and it was confirmed to our editorial staff.
Teleworking
The Consultation Committee has also decided that working from home will be mandatory again from Monday. That is confirmed to our editors. “Although it is legally difficult to enforce,” it sounds within government sources.
