Tuesday announced Apple the long-awaited iPhone 12 series. As we are used to, Apple comes with a solid smartphone that is quite expensive. Then you would expect that high end prices also means high-end specs. But in this match-up, we take a look at how the iPhone 12 compares against one of the fattest flagship killers, from OnePlus 8.
iPhone 12 vs OnePlus 8
At first glance, the iPhone 12 and OnePlus 8 are quite similar in terms of specs. The latter, which was released earlier this year, had a lower price, however. In the meantime, you can even get the OnePlus 8 for a little less than the € 699 below.
Anyway, in terms of screen you have a little more control with the OnePlus 8, although the sharpness of the iPhone 12 is a bit higher. Also in terms of camera setup, the two devices are quite at the same angle. Yes, the OnePlus 8 has considerably more megapixels, but Apple’s software usually manages to make up for a lot.
We also cannot make decisions in the field of hardware; the iPhone 12 has a laughable 4GB RAM compared to the 8 or even 12 of the OP 8. On the other hand, Apple’s smartphone is powered by a brand new A14 Bionic. Apple’s own processors tend to be pretty solid, and probably a good match for the Snapdragon 865.
Finally, the iPhone 12 has wireless charging (relatively fast too) where the OnePlus 8 does not. Conversely, the latter has a fingerprint scanner and Apple’s latest device does not.
In short, both devices have some advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless, the price will be decisive in this comparison; the OnePlus 8 was already 20% cheaper at launch and that difference has now only increased. Yet I always say it too; even the price will change their minds few users. Android and iPhone users usually stick to their preferred brand regardless of specs and prices.
