KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. President of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal promised that his party would continue to take action against the Job Creation Law. The reason is, workers feel betrayed because most of the proposals of workers are not accommodated in the regulation.

For that reason, Siad emphasized that his party would not be involved in discussing the derivative regulations of the Employment Creation Act (UU).

This attitude is in line with the commitment of the workers, who until now have rejected the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law, especially the labor cluster.

That way, Said Iqbal emphasized that in the future the action against the omnibus law by workers would be bigger and more bumpy.

“Workers reject the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law. Thus it is impossible for workers to accept the derivative regulations. Moreover, they are involved in discussing it,” said Said Iqbal in a press statement received by Kontan.co.id on Thursday (15/10).

Judging if the government catches up to broadcast again in making its derivative regulations, Said Iqbal suspects that labor unions are only used as stamps or means of legitimacy.

As for the attitude of the DPR, which promised that workers would be involved in the discussion, he said it seemed as if they were chasing deposits.

Said Iqbal said that the workers themselves felt betrayed. He also said that it was not true that 80% of labor proposals had been adopted in the Job Creation Law.

“Even though we have submitted a counter-draft of the labor proposal, but many of the suggestions we conveyed were not accommodated,” he said.

So, there are four steps that workers will take in rejecting the Job Creation Law. First, it will prepare follow-up actions in a measured and constitutional manner, both in the regions and nationally.

Second, preparing to the Constitutional Court (MK) for a formal and judicial review. Third, requesting a legislative review to the DPR RI and an executive review to the Government.

Fourth, conduct socialization or campaign about the content and reasons for rejection of the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law, especially the labor cluster by workers.
