In December 2019, 349 possible victims were reported, but a number of cases turned out to be time-barred. It concerns a total of 164 male and 148 female victims. Just under 300 victims are younger than 20 years, of which 265 are even younger than 15 years.
Joël Le Scouarnec has been incarcerated since May 2017 and must appear before the Charente-Maritime court on November 30 for other charges against him. Between 1989 and 2017 he worked in four places in the French departments of Morbihan, Indre-et-Loire and Charente-Maritime.
