The rulers who have been trying for several weeks to bring about the implementation of the so-called Fridays for animals, withdrew this week from banning the ritual slaughter of poultry. Kamil Dziubka described the backstage of a sudden change of opinion by PiS on Onet. According to his findings, it was lobbying for such a solution, among others Cedrob, the largest poultry company, which for years has sponsored events organized by communities close to the current government.
Poultry is the major part of ritual slaughter. From the expertise of prof. Artur Nowak-Fara from the Warsaw School of Economics, prepared for the Senate, shows that the annual profit from ritual slaughter of poultry is about PLN 4.5 billion, and from beef – PLN 1.6 billion.
Onet’s sources in PiS argue that the company’s president, Andrzej Goździkowski, has very good personal relations with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. He was accompanied by, among others in the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic in Karlovy Vary in 2018. On the web you can find photos of their meeting at Congress 590 in 2017. A year earlier, the then Minister of Development attended a congress organized by Cedrob.

It was sent from an address in the domain used by Cedrob. The president of the company does not substantially refer to the content of the article, but asks a number of questions and uses invectives aimed at the journalist.

Do you want to keep the ban on the ritual slaughter of poultry in favor of, inter alia, German poultry companies?

Cedrob is a sponsor of right-wing events
For several years, Cedrob has been sponsoring events organized by circles close to the current government: the “Man of Freedom” galas of Tygodnik Sieci or “Man of the Year” of Gazeta Polska. The company also advertised in “Gazeta Obywatelska”. The editor-in-chief of the magazine was Kornel Morawiecki, the prime minister’s father, until his death.
“Drobiarz encourages Sachajka to support PiS”
The name of Cedrob’s president also appeared in the political dispute over the correspondence elections in May. All thanks to Paweł Kukiz, who described an attempt to win over Jarosław Sachajka, MP from Kukiz’15, to the PiS side.
“Jarosław Sachajka (…) is called by the president of one of the largest chicken producers in Poland – Cedrob. Drobiarz encourages Sachajka to support PiS’s law on correspondence elections and suggests a position in the Ministry of Agriculture. Drobiarz also invites him to a meeting with the prime minister. with me, Jarosław Sachajko goes to meet Morawiecki. Lots of round words typical of the prime minister. Good of Poland, good of the party, good of Duda (…). Summing up – Prime Minister of Millennium and Drobiarz fail to convince Sachajka to betray his own beliefs and voters, and to vote to extend the rule of Bribes and Blackmailers at any cost “- Kukiz wrote then on Facebook.
