A patient from Prudnik, suffering from Covid-19, died in front of the emergency department in Nysa, writes “Nowa Trybuna Opolska”. According to the newspaper, there was no place for him in the hospital.

A spokesman for the health care center in Opole informed on Saturday that a 61-year-old man suffering from coronavirus, a resident of the Prudnik poviat, died in the hospital in Prudnik. Witold Rygorowicz, the president of the Prudnik Medical Center, argues with the information. The coronavirus patient did not go to the hospital in Prudnik – says Witold Rygorowicz. He died in an ambulance near the Nysa SOR, after more than an hour of resuscitation, while awaiting admission to the Nysa SOR – he adds.

“New Opole Tribune” unofficially confirmed that a patient from Prudnik died in the ambulance, waiting to be admitted to the hospital in Nysa, where all the ventilator beds for covid patients were occupied.

The hospital in Nysa is beginning to struggle with a shortage of medical personnel, the newspaper notes. On Friday, the Sanitary Inspectorate sent 5 doctors from the hospital in Nysa to quarantine, because their children had contact with people infected with coronavirus at school.

On Sunday, the health ministry informed about 4,178 new coronavirus infections in Poland. 32 patients died. In total, 125,816 people have become infected in our country since the beginning of the epidemic, and 3004 have died.

Since Saturday, due to the sharp increase in the number of coronavirus infections, all of Poland is in the yellow zone. This means, among other things, that we must all wear masks in public spaces: in shops, buses, but also on the streets. Also from Saturday, in the red zone – with even stricter restrictions – there are 32 poviats and six cities: Grudziądz, Sopot, Piotrków Trybunalski, Suwałki, Kielce and Koszalin.
