Wiesbaden – With more than 70 corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants on seven consecutive days, Offenbach is heading for the highest warning level on the escalation scale in the country. The Ministry of Social Affairs gave the so-called incidence as 70.4 on Saturday (as of midnight). Frankfurt continues to record a high value at 65.2. Stricter measures and rules now apply in both cities. With 21,586 confirmed corona cases in Hesse, the number rose by 494 cases within one day. The number of deaths related to the virus rose by two to 559.
The escalation concept of the state government provides for staggered warning levels when different incidence values are exceeded. From an incidence of 20 this is about increased attention. Further restrictions are possible above a value of 35. From a value of 50, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs, a “consistent restriction concept” applies. From a value of 75, the planning staff of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Wiesbaden takes over the control of the medical situation.
