More infections were again detected in Germany for the third day in a row. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the German RIVM, 4516 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. Yesterday there were 4,058, Wednesday 2,828.
German Health Minister Spahn already warned yesterday of the “worrying jump” in the number of infections. He emphasized that healthcare is not yet overburdened.
Also in Belgium, things are not going in the right direction with the corona figures. Between September 29 and October 5, an average of 2,916 infections were detected every day, according to the most recent figures. That is almost 72 percent more than the week before. There are now 1,110 corona patients in Belgian hospitals. That is more than half the capacity of 2,000 beds reserved for corona patients.
