JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The police conducted a rapid test of 1,192 people who were arrested during a demonstration to reject the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law in Jakarta, Thursday (8/10/2020).
As a result, 34 of them showed reactive results.
“1,192 people in total (secured) Polda Metro Jaya and Polres (Jakarta) Utara, Tangerang, Bekasi. Of these 1,192 reactive there are 34 people,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Merto Jaya, Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus to reporters, Friday (9/10 / 2020).

Yusri emphasized that the health check was carried out to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the demonstration cluster.
The reason is, said Yusri, currently the number of people exposed to Covid-19 continues to increase every day in Jakarta.
“These 34 people are still at the Athlete’s House. While waiting for the results of the swab, two or three days. If it is negative, we will return home, if it is positive, then isolate it there,” said Yusri.
Demonstrations against the omnibus law on the Work Creation Act took place in several locations in Jakarta, Thursday.
Initially, the action ran in an orderly manner by conveying the aspirations that were complained about from the ratification of the Job Creation Law.
However, some time later the crowd began to get involved in a riot. They are anarchic by destroying offices and burning a number of public facilities.
