From bad to worse: Arsenal not putting Ozil on Europa League list | Europa League

It has been clear for a while that Mesut Özil no longer fits into the plans of trainer Mikel Arteta. His last game at Arsenal was for the corona break, he was not once in the match selection this season. He will therefore not be seen in the Europa League.

Still a painful thing for Arsenal, as the 31-year-old Ozil is the highest-paid player in the club’s history. The German still has a contract in London until mid-2021.

Earlier this week, Ozil showed his positive side, albeit off the field. The German said he would pay the salary of the Arsenal mascot out of his own pocket. The club had thrown it out for financial reasons.
