Flemish Minister of Finance Matthias Diependaele (N-VA) wants to tackle the improper use of tax-efficient pick-ups. It concerns private individuals who only purchase the car because of the tax benefit.
In ten years, the number of pick-ups on Flemish roads has tripled to about 31,000, half of which is intended for professional use.
The measure only applies to newly registered vehicles.
