Autumn Chamber Music Festival on October 9 in the Grand Guild together with the State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga German clarinetist, composer and conductor will perform Jērgs Vidmanis, playing three opuses – this year’s jubilee Ludwig van Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, Karl Maria von Weber’s First Clarinet Concerto and a concert concert composed by Vidman himself With vivacity, commissioned by conductor Maris Jansons and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Inta Zegner invited the musician to a conversation about the third encounter with Sinfonietta Riga, collaboration with conductor Maris Jansons and the music played in the concert.
Jērgs Vidmanis (1973) was born in Munich, where his musical career also began. In 1984, he began studying clarinet at the Munich University of Music. His clarinet teachers are Gerd Starke in Munich and Charles Neidich at the Juliard School in New York.
Vidmanis regularly performs with world-famous orchestras – Leipzig Gewandhaus The French National Orchestra, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Washington National Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Vidmanis’ scores have been staged under the direction of conductors Daniel Barenboim, Daniel Harding, Valery Gergiev, Kent Nagano, Christian Tieleman, Maris Janson, Andris Nelsons and Simon Ratls.
