Launch Gulf News, Wednesday, (7/10/2020), the remains Chaima Sadou (19) was found burned on 2 October 2020.
The body was found at a gas station not long in use in the town of Thenia, about 60 kilometers east of the capital Algier.

The mother of the victim demanded that her daughter’s killer, identified as Rayan, be put to death.
Previously, in 2016, Rayan was jailed for three years for raping Sadou. The mother believes the murder was an attack of revenge after a prison term.
During a press conference, the public prosecutor revealed more details about the murder. It is understood that the killer reported to the authorities that “his friend caught fire at a gas station that had not been used for a long time.”
According to Rayan’s statement, it is a fact that happened on October 1, 2020 at 3 pm local time.
The prosecutor reported that Rayan was with his victim Sadou for seven minutes before the girl asked him to bring food because he was hungry.

He said that after he was five meters from where he left him, he saw smoke rising from the gas station.
An investigation was immediately carried out, and the victim’s body was examined. The investigation found several bruises, as well as large wounds on the back of Sadou’s skull and left thigh.
In front of the Attorney General, the assassin named Rayan finally confessed that he lured the victim to the abandoned place, where he raped, beat and burned him after dousing Sadou’s body with gasoline.
The perpetrator was later charged with rape and premeditated murder using torture and heinous methods.
Murder that horrific rage sparked widespread anger throughout Algeria. The incident caused quite a stir even in France and on social media where the hashtag # JeSuisChaima was one of the most shared on Twitter this Monday.
The victim’s family has asked that the perpetrator be sentenced to death. Netizens on Twitter widely shared video clips showing Chaima Sadou’s mother demanding revenge, and her receiving widespread support from the Algerian community.

“My daughter was killed and burned. I am calling for a death sentence. That’s all I ask, “said the victim’s mother.
After being released, Rayan returned to sexually assault Sadou and forced her to meet him only to kidnap him, rap him and kill him, added the victim’s mother.
Ms. Chaima appealed to Algerian President Abdel Majid Tebboune to sentence Rayan to death, the killer of her daughter.
Tebboune recently ordered the imposition of the maximum sentence, following pressure from large sections of the public calling for reintroduction of the death penalty, without the possibility of acquitting or pardoning those convicted of kidnapping and murder.
Algeria previously used the death penalty for dozens of cases each year, mainly for terrorism offenses, but the death penalty has not been carried out since 1993.
