Since the beginning of the year, 1,534 new cases of HIV have been recorded in Bashkiria. Experts managed to find out how 880 patients became infected.
Most – 778 people, or 88.41% of cases – fell on the sexual route. Another 97 residents (this is 11.02%) became infected parenterally, that is, through a needle. Five cases (0.57%) fell on the vertical path, that is, from mother to child, according to the Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases.
