Dead Before 5 Minutes Means Turned Off

Plenary session DPR RI Regarding the ratification of the Job Creation Bill into law, there was an incident that the microphone of members of the Democratic Party Faction was turned off while delivering the interruption. Fadli Zon who was once the leader of the DPR RI, commented on the dead mic incident.

Fadli Zon is a former Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI for the 2014-2019 period from the Gerindra Faction. As the leader of the DPR at that time, Fadli would often lead plenary sessions.

“Mik will only die by himself if the member’s talk time has passed 5 minutes. That’s the talk time for interruptions,” said Fadli Zon on his official Twitter, Wednesday (7/10/2020).

Fadli Zon says if the 5 minutes have not passed but the mic is dead, it means that the mic was deliberately turned off via the button of the court leadership table.

“If it hasn’t been 5 minutes that the mic is dead, it means that it is turned off from the leadership table button,” said this member of Commission I DPR RI.

Is a member of the Democratic Faction DPR RI, Irwan, whose mic was turned off during the interruption. The gestures of the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, from the chair of the plenary session were highlighted just before Irwan’s mik died. PDIP said Puan Maharani turned off the mic because it was asked by Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Azis Syamsuddin, who guided the proceedings.

“It was very visible in the conversation that these whispers were stopped. Then they were stopped through the leadership table. I see. Stopping talking through the leadership table,” said the Secretary of the PDIP Faction. DPR RI Bambang Wuryanto to reporters, Tuesday (6/10/2020).
