Hundreds of packages with presumably cocaine washed up in Zeeland | NOW

On the beach of Borssele in Zeeland, more than three hundred packages with suspected cocaine were washed up on Tuesday afternoon, customs confirms after a report by Zeeland broadcaster.

The discovery was made around 2 pm on the Kalootstrand between the nuclear power plant in Borssele and Ritthem, where the packages were widespread.

Customs informs NU.nl that the packages weigh approximately 1 kilo each. Images of various animals can be seen on top of the taped packages.

The first quick tests show that the packages probably contain cocaine. To establish this with complete certainty, they were sent to a laboratory.

On Tuesday evening there were no more packages washed ashore, but customs will keep an eye on the beach “for the time being”.
