Immediate withdrawal of the counterfeit Tesco Pâté with goose liver in the package was ordered by the State Agricultural and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) of Tesco Stores ČR.
“On the packaging, the proportion of meat components indicated, inter alia: goose liver (32%), pork liver (12%). However, laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of chicken liver protein in the product, which was not marked on the packaging and is therefore a misleading food. with regard to the actual composition, “said Pavel Kopřiva, spokesman for the inspection.

Tesco is now awaiting administrative proceedings to impose a fine. “At the same time, the CAFIA will enter the information into the European system for combating counterfeit food AACS, which will enable the investigation of the case in the country of origin of the food,” added Kopřiva.
“We withdrew the mentioned product from sale during the day. We are solving the whole matter with the supplier and at the same time we are waiting for the control test of the affected product,” Tesco Stores spokesman Václav Koukolíček responded to TN.cz on Tuesday.
