The Pew Research Center survey was conducted in Europe (Belgium, Britain, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden), North America (Canada and the USA) and the Pacific (Australia, Japan and South Korea). In each country, the survey was conducted from June 10 to August 3 on a representative sample of 1,000 or more people. The statistical error varies between three and four percent, depending on the country.
