Manchester United finally brought in a new defender. Alex Such docked at Old Trafford from FC Porto on the last day of the transfer window this summer.
MU announced that it had completed the transfer of Alex Telles from FC Porto on the last day of the transfer market, Tuesday (6/10/2020) in the morning WIB. The Brazilian player is under contract by MU for four years until 2024 with an option to extend for one year.
MU did not mention the transfer value of the left-back 27 this year. However, several sources reveal The Red Devils have to spend 13.6 million pounds to bring Telles. This figure does not include a bonus worth 1.8 million pounds.
Telles joined MU after appearing charming at FC Porto last season. He was able to score 13 goals and 12 assists from 49 matches and led Si Naga to the Portuguese League and Portuguese Cup titles.
The player born in Caxias do Sul is eager to continue his slick record with FC Porto at MU. He also admitted that he was so proud to be joining a team as big as the Red Devils.
“Joining a club of Manchester United is a great honor. You have to work hard to reach this moment in your career and now I have come to this club. I promise I will give everything from my heart to succeed here, “Telles was quoted as saying on the official MU website.
“I won a lot of trophies at FC Porto and I want to continue at United. The manager has a clear plan and goals for this team and I can’t wait to wear the shirt of this club that is so famous,” he explained.
