We Gaan Ze Halen campaign group sends empty Boeing 737s to Lesbos

The courageous fighters of the We Gaan Ze Halen action group will make another attempt to get them tomorrow morning. An empty Boeing 737 will depart from Rotterdam Airport with the Greek island of Lesbos as its final destination. The activists hope to get 189 refugees from the burnt down reception camp there to the Netherlands. According to it Algemeen Dagblad the activists think that the measure is full.

“The Netherlands must offer them an asylum procedure in safe conditions – with healthy food, adequate medical care and psycho-social support.”

Initiator Rikko Voorberg continues to say that there is one enormous support is in the country for the pick-up plan, but politicians in The Hague refuse to listen after this. Earlier attempts to bring refugees to the Netherlands failed unfortunate, although the group was satisfied with all media attention for the action.

At the same time, the chance that the expedition will yield nothing more than a lot of unnecessary CO2 emissions this time is great. State Secretary Ankie Broekers-Knol previously informed the club that such private flights would not be served.

“You cross the initiatives of the Greek authorities, the EU, the Netherlands and other Member States. I can therefore not give you permission for relocation of people from Lesbos to the Netherlands. ”
